2023 Project in Collaboration with FABRICA "IMMERSIVE DINNER with LAKOU
Join us in an immersive 6-course dinner experience exploring food as an artifact of East African resistance to colonialism. Enjoy original interpretations of Italian dishes as well as sentimental takes on Eritrean and Ethiopian classics. Lakou continues a long culinary tradition of re-contextualizing and absorbing foreign influence and ingredients into East African palettes and techniques. Set to classic soundscapes of 60s and 70s Ethiopian and Italian music, the event will close with a one hour sobremesa vinyl set of Ethiopian jazz records.
